John had come closer, watching as the man in front of him came crawling out from the mess of wires and various parts when he spotted an odd glow emitting from the center of his shirt. Though partially hidden from the fabric, there was definitely something there to take interest in.

But John offered his services, so those questions would be asked later, possibly sooner, but right now, he wanted to show this guy what he was capable of. And so the moment that he'd been shown the scraps, John was more than happy to contribute.

"It looks like it's going to need a lot of work before it gets to that point," he responded in remark to the lab being able to blow ones mind.
