By using a stellar manipulator, of course. It alters the life cycle of stars. More commonly they're used to cause stars to go supernova, but they can keep a star fusing hydrogen in its core beyond its natural main sequence life span, too.

That and a bit of careful temporal manipulation, and our star system can remain as it is for a very very long time. A necessity for a civilization as old as ours.
