So. Since this place is apparently just like back home as far as tabloids and gossip columns and the latest tumblr blog... for those of you who didn't happen to hear in one of the fifty completely open and unfiltered conversations about this particular subject:

I've been sent to Zero to sober up. Absolutely tragic loss to the extremely limited party life here on the barge. But. Everyone's invited to my room when I get out for a bit of fun.

Regardless of how he's coming across on the network, to the few people who've pinged him, the few conversations he's had to have, he's not doing well. He's pale and sweating, and the puking's only stopped by now because he has nothing left in him. He's shaking from the withdrawal, just kind of huddled in a corner, a few water bottles scattered around him and his communicator within grabbing distance.

He's pissed for no reason, paranoid and anxious, depressed, and a little out of breath. Because despite the glowing blue circle in his chest making sure his heart keeps beating at a relatively steady rate? It's still pounding and racing, sending small spasms through the damaged muscles around the metal casing shoved in his sternum.

He looks like crap, he feels like crap, and what's even worse? He knows he's going to have visitors. Because for some reason, despite his absolute best efforts to keep it from happening? People on this hell barge actually seem to worry. It's weird.]

There a reason I ditched out then? Or is it some super secret future breaking deal? Because I'm not really buying that whole teammate from the future thing.

Actually, pretty much everyone jumped ship for a bit then there was a pretty major incident and Steve decided to put together a new team.

And I dunno if you're from the past or from an entirely different universe all together. Last time I was on the Barge, there was another person I knew but who didn't know me so I'm guessing it's the latter.

Does the name Luke Cage sound familiar at all?

There was apparently a lot of build up to it and it was complicated as all Hell, so I'll spare ya. [That and another version of Wanda so he didn't want her saddled with that baggage.]

[Yeeeaaaah, Tony's on relatively... decent terms with the Wanda here. Alternate reality or not, any baggage is... tricky ground.

Which is probably why Tony wants to know exactly what his alternate selves deem as "good ideas".]

Well, when we first met, it was still a secret that you were Iron Man. I was still doing my hero for hire thing and a guy came up claiming to work for you. Said you were needing someone to test your new security system.

Turns out the story was bullshit, he just needed someone to keep you distracted while stealing some new suit you were making. We cleared things up after going a couple rounds and were able to stop the guy from getting away.

[There's a pause in the texts on his end, because after a moment's consideration, Tony's deciding that hey, what the hell. He's feeling less sick now, and this guy's giving him information, as vague as it may be.

So Luke's getting to deal with the more than scratchy voice that comes with a hangover from hell.]

I kept that a secret? Seriously? Sounds exhausting.

[That's... interesting, though. Really, extremely interesting.] A few rounds with the suit? Huh. Figured I would have gotten it to Norse God level even on the other side of the rabbit hole.

Yeah. I didn't really keep in touch so I can only assume how tiring it might've been. I never bothered with the whole secret identity thing.

Hahaha, it wouldn't surprise me if you had one sitting in storage in case of emergencies or something.

And yeah, I'm a little tougher than I look.

Yeah, my secret identity kind of lasted all of half a press conference. [Much to SHIELD's unending annoyance.]

Pretty sure ninety percent of the ship would be more than happy to tell you I'm suitless so... gonna steal their thunder here. Stuck as an inmate and haven't been out on good behavior long enough for toys.
