[Hi barge, someone looks grumpy today. Probably has to do with the fact that he's apparently been asleep for over two weeks.]

For the record? I'm blaming space. And the fact that we're in a ship that doesn't work by any version of logic piloted by a guy who, let's face it, doesn't actually know how to sail a multidimensional spaceship. You could put a monkey in a hat and he'd be a better Admiral than this guy. Because. Uh. Comas don't just happen out of the blue, and who knows what kind of alien radiation we're all getting hit with. [... Yeah he's just really annoyed about this.

Still, he's just kind of rubbing a hand against his temple and the side of his head for a second, brow furrowed, before gesturing vaguely at the communicator.] So what have I missed, who's gone and who's new and how many crash landings did I sleep through?

Apparently comas contagious, so prolonged exposure to Captain Beauty Sleep should be monitored. [Tony speak for "Hey guys I'm back you totally missed me don't even lie."] Who's killed who and tell me no one touched the helmet.

Yeah, because any world where science is just dragged through the mud is definitely going to work on sophisticated, more than human logic.

[He shrugs a shoulder, though. Not really that bothered by the whole logic side of things. He's pretty much given up on logic being a factor by this point.] That's basically what I'm saying. Barge "magic" or radiation, either way something's happening here often enough that the dick of an Admiral should be able to stop it. But he doesn't.

[He's really just annoyed with this. Having the control completely torn out of his hands, being completely vulnerable for so long? Yeah. It has him hating this place even more than usual.]

Where we are doesn't include science being "dragged through the mud." Not only is there no mud here, but in a lot of cases human theorems haven't been established for these experience. I ... didn't mean insult, when I said so.

I simply think that, in many cases, us - androids, angels, and humans alike - trying to comprehend what the Admiral thinks is like an ant trying to imagine a human's motives, and for him vice versa.

I don't think the Admiral is omnipotent. There may yet be things he can't stop. Though I doubt he would share what those things are.

Magic on principle insults me. And, uh. Dragged through the mud is an expression. Not literal.

Right, the angel thing. [Which, now that he's personally experienced the whole viking alien god thing back home, he's a little more prone to believing.]

I'm not saying he's not crafty, I'm just going on his piloting issues as a base for him being an idiot.

Why does magic insult you? It has rules, and strengths and weakness and theorems and laws - just like science.

It's less the whole "magic is just a science you don't understand!!!" [and yeah, he's pulling out the air quotes] schtick and more the oh, hey, I'm going to turn these mice into horses to carry your pumpkin carriage to the ball just by waving a stick and throwing glitter in the air.

Like science, high-level magic only requires a great amount of study to understand, and the more complicated the magic or science, the more study necessary.
